Guests at the Thursday Project on Zoom

Our weekly Thursday Project Zoom sessions are now into their 15th week. Over the course of that time, we’ve been lucky enough to be joined by a number of excellent speakers in our regular 30 minute guest slot.

Representatives from some fantastic organisations, such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Time For Change, Forefront Community Centre, the Good Things Foundation and Ark At Egwood, have all dropped in to inform our members of some of the brilliant opportunities that are available to them locally. We’ve also been joined by motivational speakers, authors and ‘laughter yoga’ specialists, who’ve offered up some invaluable wellbeing advice and techniques.

This past Thursday saw a visit from Simon and Rebecca of Somerset Art Works, who regularly drop by to give live art demonstrations and to set some fun creative projects for our group to complete. This week they tasked us with producing a portrait in pencil, a challenge that our members eagerly met!

We were also very pleased to welcome Dr Andrew Tressider, who had us out of our seats and limbering up, before delivering a fascinating and enlightening talk about health and self care.

Our guests have been many and varied, and all our members and staff would like to give a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has given up their time to keep us informed and entertained over the past four months!

– Here at Chard Watch, we are always looking out for interesting and informative guest speakers to come and talk during our Thursday Zoom sessions. If you you have a topic, organisation or event that you think might be beneficial to our members and are willing to come and share it with us, please contact Abby at gabriellewallbridge@watchproject.org.uk to exchange details.
