Adam Dance MP visits WATCH’s new offices

Yeovil MP Adam Dance visited the new offices of mental health charity WATCH CIO on 29 January 2026.

The charity, which has been based in Chard for 16 years, recently moved to the new premises at the Hive Young People’s Centre. The charity was previously based in the Boden Centre

The move is something of a homecoming for the charity, which began its Thursday Project at the site in 2010 and later moved its operations to Chard Rugby Club.

The local MP spent time speaking with staff and members and was given a tour of the new offices.

Speaking about the visit, Adam Dance said: “It’s fantastic to see the new home of the WATCH Project. I fully support what they are doing. As we know, a lack of volunteers nationally is an issue but this is a really good charity to come and support.”

CEO of the WATCH Project, Julie Matthews BEM, said: “Adam has been really supportive of our charity and we enjoyed showing him around our new offices, which will help us to deliver our services.”

Julie added: “We are looking for new trustees and volunteers to help support us and our vision to improve mental health in Somerset. We are also especially grateful to Chard Rugby Club for their support of our charity over the years.”
