Five Ways to Wellbeing Challenges

As we’re sure has been the case for many, Lockdown has presented us with several fairly substantial conundrums here at WATCH. One of which is exactly how do we stay in touch and engage with our members during a period of imposed isolation?

Our answer has been regular Zoom meetings. But coming up with new ways to interact as a group and stimulate conversation over the course of the last 12 months, whilst also getting to grips with the limitations of online communication, has been a challenge.

Thankfully, Helen, our new volunteer Activities Coordinator, has come up with a whole plethora of exciting and fresh ideas. Most recently, she’s been setting our members a weekly challenge that relates to one of the Five Ways of Wellbeing (Connect, Keep Learning, Give, Be Active and Take Notice). She’s had us all learning origami (pictures included), peering out of our windows at a familiar scene and sharing all the small details we’d not noticed before, and this week, we’ve been tasked with putting on some music (the cheesier the better) and bopping around the house while completing our housework!

It’s all been tremendous fun, whilst simultaneously teaching us useful tips to help maintain good mental wellbeing.
