“All of us here at WATCH would like to say heartfelt thanks to Joyce Passmore who gave a  talk of her journey at Bethel penticostal church in Tiverton recently raising an amazing £150 on book sales for our Project.

Joyce wrote ‘The Light in My Mind’ which is truly a real insight of her personal experience in the mental health system.

Norman Webley wrote: “Joyce’s book challenges us to the core, taking us through her deeply harrowing experiences of enforced multiple electric shock ‘treatments’, insulin coma ‘therapy’ and severe over-medication; in the hidden world of an old Victorian-style mental asylum.

She suffered extreme medical neglect, nearly dying twice in the process; but her story relates without bitterness, how her faith and perseverance brought her through to what doctors thought was impossible: healing and recovery.
