Are you the athletic sort? Because we aren’t!
Sometime in July, members of the group will be pitting themselves against the staff at Yarlington in the football match to end all football matches. Such is the hype for this thing, we suspect you’ve heard about it already, stood in line at the local supermarket buying your dinner. It’s all people are talking about. Probably.
“Why should I care?” you ask. Well, first of all, that’s a little rude, and second of all: because we’re looking for a good pair of legs and anyone willing to make some noise for either side – some real good sports, if you catch our drift. [That pun was so bad, we’re tempted to stick Matthew in goal because of it.]
This should be a lot of fun for all involved. Except for the losers. They’ll go home feeling embarrassed. First Aiders will be on site, but we can’t promise they’ll be able to fix any red faces!
Joking aside, it is a friendly game, so there won’t be any pressure to perform on or off the field. All that’s expected is you enjoy yourself!
If you’re interested in playing or improvising football chants, please let Julie (or anyone else in charge) know at the Chard Young People’s Centre on any given Thursday. If that’s not an option, feel free to contact us online.
More details to follow once you’ve finished stretching those legs!
