Mental Health Awareness Week – Day Three: Give

Over the course of Mental Health Awareness Week, (May 10th – 16th) we hope to share with you how the Watch Project incorporates the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ – 5 key actions which have a positive effect on your mental health – and how connecting with nature during this last year has been so important for us all.

Day Three – Give

There is a joy to giving presents, but equally there is a joy to giving back and helping others which really promotes wellbeing for all.

Watch’s foundation is Peer support, which is to give and receive support in equal measure, and this is at the heart of what we do. We have been so fortunate to have some fantastic volunteers who help out with nature walks, cooking, telephone support and so much more. We really appreciate the time they give to support us, Thank you all!

There is a chance to get out in nature with our walks and trips to local conservation sites, as well as other volunteering opportunities. So if you feel you have some time you could ‘Give’, we would love to hear from you!

“The journey getting back into work after a break due to ill health is daunting so volunteering for me has been about making small commitments in the right direction. By slowly growing my daily and weekly commitments I have found volunteering gives me the structure I need to feel well, promote healthy routine and earn a sense of satisfaction”- New Watch Volunteer
