Return to Folly Farm

Folly Farm is a local farm run by Jonathan Farey. Occasionally, Jonathan very kindly opens his doors to the community for therapeutic and educational sessions. Before lockdown, our members were lucky enough to enjoy frequent visits to Folly Farm, but, due to restrictions, we have been unable to make the trip for a year or more.

We’re happy to report that, this past week, amidst much excitement, we made our eagerly anticipated return to Folly Farm!

Fresh air and a connection to nature are valuable tools in helping to reduce the effects of social isolation. There is an increasing body of evidence to suggest that use of the natural environment is important for both physical and mental wellbeing. As such, our members find their time spent at Folly Farm extremely enjoyable and beneficial.

Watch founder and CEO, Julie Matthews, found time in her busy schedule to accompany our members on their day out. She had this to say – ‘We have watched dragonflies, listened to birds, identified wildflowers, fed newborn lambs, enjoyed tea and cake and had a much-needed catch-up chat. Many thanks to Jonathan and Maria for their hospitality. Nature is free and great for our health and wellbeing’.

Our return to Folly Farm was a resounding success and we very much look forward to many more trips there in the coming months and years!
