Recently, one lucky group of members and staff were invited to spend some time in the beautifully picturesque grounds of Stourhead in order to contribute to a group sculpture celebrating their anniversary.
Tracey, who was a part of that group, had this to say about her experience;
‘What a wonderful time we had. The members of Watch took part in an art workshop to add to a group sculpture. This is being made and then exhibited in the grounds of Stourhead to celebrate 75 years of being run by the National Trust.
The idea is to make birds from plastic milk bottles. Birds are a fantastic subject, as they represent so many different things to so many people. The bottles are a source of plastic that is recycled and made back into plastic milk bottles. This means that the project has a very low carbon impact. The general public are also invited to contribute using bottles and feathers, all resources that are widely accessible to most.
The grounds at Stourhead are breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful, and full of wonders around every corner. It’s been an amazing way to connect to nature. I am looking forward to returning as there is still so much to explore’.
