#TimetoTalk 2016

TimeToTalk

On Thursday the 4th of February 2016, The WATCH Project took part in this year’s Time to Change ‘Time to Talk Day’ – a nationwide initiative designed to break down the stigma of Mental Health by getting people to break their silence and share personal experiences from the field. (Which sounds right up our alley, if you take a left down Essex Close and look for the Rugby Club’s neighbours…)

Our doors were open to the public with the promise of goody bags (filled with topical postcards and badges) and stimulating conversation; members’ were encouraged to adorn blazoned t-shirts as well, on the promise they give them back so that we could wash and wear them again next year!

Debbie Humberstone from The Project attended too, along with Councillor Amanda Broom who paid a visit (pictured above). They were both lovely company and I insist you give a shy but polite wave of hello should you see them in the street.

While not as busy as we would have liked (in terms of outsiders), the conversations had on the day proved such a success that come it’s end, we were invited to talk on Glastonbury FM and share our thoughts!
