It’s Volunteers Week and WATCH would like to say a big thank you to all of our brilliant volunteers!
Today we are “showcasing” our volunteer Jo. Jo volunteers at our Thursday project and has recently ran some pottery sessions which have been enjoyed by both members and staff! Here is what Jo had to say:
“I volunteer at Chard Watch every Thursday. A few weeks ago I ran a pottery workshop. Making pottery is a hobby of mine and I enjoy sharing it with others. The first workshop was really fun, I think 9 members from Watch joined in, and 5 staff. It was really interesting to see the different things people made!
Two weeks later, I brought all the fired pottery back, and last week everyone glazed their own pieces. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was a real confidence boost for me as I’ve only ever done pottery with friends and family at home before. I really enjoyed being able to share my love of ceramics with the lovely people at Watch
.”
