WATCH Shared Reading Group

Our Pathways to Learning group, which regularly meets on a Tuesday afternoon, often invites a guest speaker along to talk about all manner of interesting topics. One such speaker, who recently dropped by to have a chat, was Julie from The Reader. The Reader is a national charity that wants to bring about a Reading Revolution so that everyone can experience and enjoy great literature, which they believe is a tool for helping humans survive and live well.

As a result of Julie’s visit, we collectively decided to set up our very own WATCH shared reading group. Every Monday morning, members of WATCH are invited to join a Zoom meeting in order to discuss and debate a chosen piece of writing or poetry.

The wellbeing benefits of being able to let your creative juices freely flow are numerous and widely recognised. What better way to achieve this than to talk about your favourite pieces of writing amongst a group of friends?
