Watcharama is our weekly member meet-up that takes place on Zoom. Three hours packed with art demonstrations, guest speakers, fun and games, currently taking place on a Thursday afternoon.

The Thursday Project’s answer to the conundrum posed to us by lockdown restrictions, Watcharama has been running since April 2020. Designed to provide a safe platform for members to meet during the Covid-19 pandemic, we plan for it to continue in some form even after the crisis has passed.

Informative, fun and constantly evolving, each week we aim to provide a mixture of interesting guest speakers, course and event news, chat, quizzes and games.

Representatives from some fantastic organisations, such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Time For Change, Forefront Community Centre, the Good Things Foundation and Ark At Egwood, have all dropped in to inform our members of some of the brilliant opportunities that are available to them locally. We’ve also been joined by motivational speakers, authors and ‘laughter yoga’ specialists, who’ve offered up some invaluable wellbeing advice and techniques.

The last hour is always reserved for fun and games, and often provides some genuine ‘laugh out loud’ moments. Gargling the theme to Eastenders with a glass of water? Profess to be descended from royalty in a game of ‘Would I Lie To You?’ Guessing which celebrity this look-alike is supposed to be? These are all things that commonly take place over the course of the final 60 minutes of our Watcharama sessions. During difficult times, we’re firm believers that laughter is often the best medicine!

Somerset Art Works provide us with a live art demo.
