Yarlington Community Bus Event (Summary)

HeadingOn Wednesday the 22nd July, Yarlington held a community bus event at Bishop’s Court, Bradfield Way in Chard. This event was designed to help Yarlington tenants with any queries they may have or support they may need, along with signposting to services they may find useful — which is why the WATCH Project were invited along to participate.

Also present were Verity Baum from Cosmic, Nicki Watts from Inspired to Achieve, a dentist from the NHS, Kate Rew from Bubble and Speak, the world’s nicest bus driver and various representatives from Yarlington itself.

The event was a success overall, but because of the weather was so unpredictable some door to door encouragement was needed! (Please don’t be deceived by the sunny photographs. We had to take shelter more than once!)

In spite of that set-back, plenty of conversations were had and those that did attend seemed to enjoy themselves and found what was on offer useful; Whether it was balloons for the kids, community assistance from Lisa or sandwiches for Matthew, everyone left fulfilled in some capacity!

[I had a lot of fun at this event anyway and do hope we get invited to their next one. Thank you for including us! – M@thew]
